What is SpellBurst?
SpellBurst is a word puzzle game that combines word search with match-3 chain reactions. Spell words on a grid of letter tiles to create power tiles that clear the board in cascading chains. It has level-based progression and a daily challenge. SpellBurst was built solo by Ray Martone and published by DoubleCat LLC.
What is the SpellBurst Daily Challenge?
The Daily Challenge gives every player the same board and the same deck on the same day, so scores are directly comparable. Vocabulary is one path to a high score and board sense is the other.
How is SpellBurst different from other word games?
Two things. The dictionary is curated for words people actually know rather than accepting anything technically legal, so finding a word feels like recognition instead of a shrug. And the boards are generated so that letters relate to one another, rather than each tile being rolled independently, which is what causes boards in most word games to go dead.
What platforms is SpellBurst available on?
SpellBurst is available on iOS via TestFlight and on Android via Google Play. The game is currently in open beta.
