Terms of Service

Last updated October 11, 2026

SpellBurst is operated by DoubleCat LLC, a Maryland company. These terms describe the agreement between DoubleCat LLC ("we," "us," or "our") and you for using the SpellBurst mobile app on iOS and Android and its supporting game services (together, the "Service"). These game terms do not require visitors to spellburst.app or doublecat.com to register, sign in, or make a purchase.

Please read these terms before accepting them or using the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Rights that applicable law gives you and does not allow you to waive remain yours regardless of what these terms say.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 to use the Service. If you have not reached the age at which you can enter this agreement on your own where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept it with you before you play. Purchases by a minor require the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

You may use the Service only where your use is lawful, including under applicable export and sanctions restrictions.

2. Saved progress and game data

SpellBurst does not ask you to register or sign in. To operate the game, it assigns an anonymous technical identifier to your installation. We use that identifier to associate saved progress, game currency, and purchases with a player record. SpellBurst does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or a password to play, and the identifier does not tell DoubleCat who you are.

On supported devices, SpellBurst may use the device's platform game service, such as Game Center, to preserve access to the same anonymous player record. This does not create a DoubleCat sign-in or tell DoubleCat who you are. If that service is unavailable, the game continues using its anonymous identifier.

We may be unable to reconnect you with your progress or items if you lose access to the anonymous identifier and no supported platform game service can restore it. Clearing app data, reinstalling, or changing devices can affect that access. Store purchase restoration and recovery of saved progress are different processes; recovering a purchase does not necessarily recover progress or previously spent currency. Contact us for help with missing progress or purchases. Applicable legal and store remedies remain available.

We periodically remove some unused player data, including records associated with installations that were created but never used to play or make a purchase. This cleanup is separate from a player's request to delete their data. It is not a promise that all inactive player records or all associated records are deleted after a particular period.

You may request deletion of the player data associated with your installation as described in our Privacy Policy. In SpellBurst, open Settings, choose Help & Info, choose Delete Account, then tap Delete My Account and confirm with Delete Forever. The policy also describes a web request for players who no longer have the app; it takes effect after 30 days unless you sign in to or play SpellBurst in that time. Some records may be retained when required or permitted by law, as explained in the policy.

You can stop playing at any time. Do not attempt to transfer your player record or use another person's player record without authorization.

3. Playing and sharing SpellBurst

We give you a limited, non-exclusive permission to access the Service and install and play the game on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the applicable app-store usage rules. This permission does not transfer ownership of the game or its assets to you.

DoubleCat and its licensors retain their rights in the game's software, artwork, audio, branding, and other materials. Third-party components remain subject to their own applicable licenses and notices; these terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses.

You may share your scores, screenshots, and gameplay recordings, and publish reviews, walkthroughs, or streams, including videos supported by advertising or viewer subscriptions. Identify the game as SpellBurst, respect other people's privacy and rights, and do not suggest that DoubleCat sponsors or endorses you without permission. This permission does not authorize selling or distributing the game itself or redistributing its assets separately.

For an iOS copy distributed under Apple's standard EULA, that EULA governs the software license and takes priority over a conflicting software-license provision here. These terms address the related game service. Applicable Apple or Google agreements separately govern your relationship with the store. Contact DoubleCat for game support.

4. Fair play and feedback

Please do not:

Accessibility tools that do not manipulate game results or compromise security are not prohibited by the automation restriction above. Honest criticism and reviews are welcome and do not violate these terms.

If you voluntarily send us ideas for improving the game, you allow us to implement and develop those suggestions without paying you. You keep ownership of your messages and any original material in them. This permission does not transfer ownership of reviews or authorize us to publish private support correspondence or personal information contrary to our Privacy Policy.

5. Purchases

SpellBurst offers optional purchases of game currency and a coin doubler through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Before completing a purchase, check the item description and the price, currency, and taxes shown by the store. Use only a payment method you are authorized to use. The store processes your payment under its own terms.

Prices and offers may change for future purchases. A later price change does not alter the amount already charged for a completed purchase. If an item is not delivered or a purchase appears incorrect, contact us with the relevant transaction details. Do not send payment-card details or passwords.

6. Gold and other game items

Gold, hearts, boosters, and other digital game items give you the ability to use particular features within SpellBurst. Whether earned or purchased, they are not money, do not earn interest, and cannot be sold, transferred outside supported game features, or exchanged for cash, except where a refund or other remedy is required by law or store policy.

The coin doubler is a permanent, non-consumable purchase that doubles eligible coin rewards earned from completing levels and daily challenges. It does not itself purchase game currency and does not double currency bought through the store. You may restore the purchase through the applicable app store on supported devices using the same store account. Restoring the purchase does not restore previously spent currency or saved progress.

The game describes what an item does and how it is spent or consumed. Using a consumable reduces its available balance; a purchase does not promise a particular score or outcome. Purchased virtual currency does not expire merely through the passage of time.

We may correct balances or results caused by bugs, fraud, or unauthorized manipulation, and may remove items associated with refunded or reversed transactions to the extent permitted by law and store rules. Contact us if you believe a correction was wrong.

These items depend on the Service being available. The service-change and termination provisions below apply, together with any legal or store rights relating to paid content.

7. Refunds

Refunds and cancellations are subject to applicable law and the rules of the store that processed the purchase. These terms do not remove any right to a refund, withdrawal, replacement, or other remedy you have under those rules or the law.

For Apple purchases, use Apple's refund request process. For Google Play purchases, consult Google Play's refund policy. You can also contact us for help with missing or malfunctioning game items.

Outside those rights or an offer we expressly make, purchases are not refundable simply because you stop playing or change your mind.

8. Updates and availability

We may release updates, fix errors, and adjust levels, scoring, rewards, or other game features. Some updates may be necessary to continue using online features. We do not promise uninterrupted access, compatibility with every device, or that every feature will remain unchanged.

Beta and experimental features may contain errors and may change or be withdrawn. We will disclose any planned reset of beta progress or balances before it happens where reasonably practicable; beta status does not remove legal or store rights relating to purchases.

If we plan to close the Service or make a change that materially reduces access to paid content, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable and any notice, access period, or remedy required by law or store rules. Urgent security or legal issues may require immediate action.

9. Suspension and ending access

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected cheating, fraud, security threats, or serious breaches of these terms. We may terminate access for a material or repeated breach, to comply with law, or as part of closing the Service under section 8.

Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the action and provide an opportunity to correct the issue or contact us for review. We may act immediately when delay would expose players, the Service, or another person to harm, or when notice is prohibited by law.

Losing access may prevent use of game progress and digital items. Any applicable refund, consumer, or privacy rights continue to apply. Do not evade a suspension by starting a new player record. If you believe an action was mistaken, email us.

10. Warranties and responsibility for losses

We provide the Service on an "as available" and "as is" basis. To the extent the law permits, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We cannot guarantee that the Service will always be available, secure, or free of errors. Statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded remain in force.

To the extent permitted by law, DoubleCat and its personnel are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business opportunities arising from the Service. Subject to the exceptions below, our combined total liability for claims arising from the Service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid for SpellBurst purchases during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, including payments processed through app stores.

These limits do not apply to fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. They do not restrict mandatory refunds, statutory remedies, or non-waivable consumer or privacy rights. Where a limitation is not permitted, the applicable legal rules govern instead.

11. Privacy, notifications, and third-party services

Our unified Privacy Policy explains the anonymous technical identifier, saved game information, purchase records, analytics data, and other information processed in the game and on spellburst.app and doublecat.com. SpellBurst does not offer player registration or a DoubleCat sign-in, does not ask you to provide your name, email address, or phone number to play, and does not use its anonymous identifier to determine who you are. The iOS and Android app uses Amplitude for analytics; it does not use Google Analytics. The websites use consent-gated Google Analytics and do not use Amplitude. If you choose to email support, we receive the address and information you include in that message.

If you opt in, we send push notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). You can turn them off in your device notification settings. FCM uses technical identifiers to deliver notifications to an app installation. Accepting these terms does not opt you into push notifications or substitute for any separate privacy consent required by law.

App stores, platform game services, and websites you reach through external links operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control those independent services. This does not reduce our responsibility for our own handling of your information or our own obligations to you.

12. Questions and disputes

If a problem arises, please contact support@doublecat.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a condition of exercising a legal right and does not extend any deadline for bringing a claim.

Maryland law governs these terms, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law that would otherwise apply to you.

Unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes will be brought in a state court in Montgomery County, Maryland, or a federal court in the District of Maryland with jurisdiction over the dispute. Nothing here limits access to an eligible small-claims court or a regulator. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class proceedings or jury rights.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised version with its effective date. For material changes, we will give reasonable advance notice through the Service or another appropriate channel unless an urgent legal or security reason requires a faster change. We will request renewed agreement where required by law.

Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively change the terms governing an existing dispute. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Service; rights already accrued remain subject to applicable law.

14. Other provisions

These terms and any applicable software license govern the subjects they address. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent they can operate lawfully. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

We may transfer this agreement with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the Service, provided the successor assumes our obligations and the transfer does not reduce your mandatory rights. We will provide any notice required by law. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent, except as applicable law permits.

Provisions intended to apply after use ends, including ownership, accrued payment obligations, liability, and dispute resolution, continue to apply to the extent relevant.
